Jumpertown gets split against Pine Grove, Geno’s 30 lifts boys to division win

Jumpertown took a loss against Pine Grove earlier in the season at home. With every division game being crucial, they knew they needed a road win to avoid the season sweep.

Enter Austin Geno.

The senior slasher made a series of plays at the basket on his way to 30 points and the Cardinals first division win of the season. The 65-44 victory over Pine Grove moved the Cardinals to 8-12 on the season.

“Coach Mason told us to attack because our shots weren’t falling. I was just trying to get high percentage looks,” Geno said of his performance.

The senior leader’s journey back from a freak accident last April has been well documented.

His warrior mentality was on full display against the Panthers.

Asked how it felt to get the first division win of the season, Geno was quick with a reply.

“It felt great.”

In girls action, the Lady Cardinals faced off against the two time defending state champion Lady Panthers and fell 71-16.
