Six Northeast football sophomores make JCGridiron watch lists

Six Northeast football sophomores received preseason recognition on JCGridiron watch lists, the college announced August 24.

Linebacker Jerone Baskin, receivers Isaiah Cobbs and Jeremiah Thomas, and defensive linemen Russell Davis, Christian Mays and J’Cameron Riley were included. The lists were published through On3.

Baskin returned after making 20 tackles, including two for loss. Cobbs had 21 catches and more than 200 receiving yards in his previous season at Northeast. Riley contributed 19 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Mays and Davis also appeared among the nation’s top 50 junior-college prospects. Thomas joined the Tigers from North Alabama, where he caught two passes for 25 yards in three appearances as a freshman. The recognition underscored the experience Northeast brought into its 2026 schedule.
