Northeast drops two matches on final day of ICC Crossover

Northeast volleyball finished the ICC Crossover Tournament with two straight-set losses on August 22 in Fulton. Pellissippi State and Northwest Shoals each defeated the Tigers 3-0, leaving Northeast at 1-3 after its opening weekend.

Pellissippi State won 25-23, 25-20 and 25-16. Addy Hicks led Northeast with 10 kills, including seven in the tightly contested opening set.

Northwest Shoals took the second match 25-18, 28-26 and 25-22. Northeast built leads in the second and third sets but could not close either one.

Eliza Whitenton recorded 10 kills against Northwest Shoals. The Tigers’ early opportunities were offset by offensive struggles and errors that allowed their opponents to finish stronger. The August 23 recap outlined a quick turnaround for another Alabama doubleheader before Northeast’s home opener.
