Northeast volleyball opens season with split at ICC Crossover

Northeast volleyball opened its 2026 season with a split at the ICC Crossover Tournament on August 21 in Fulton. The Tigers lost to Bevill State in four sets before defeating Dyersburg State in four.

Bevill State won 25-19, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-14. Addi Vetovitz led all players with 11 kills, while Eliza Whitenton added nine kills and 13 digs. Abbey Hall recorded 24 assists.

Northeast rebounded against Dyersburg State, taking the first two sets 25-17 before dropping the third 26-24. Another 25-17 win in the fourth gave the Tigers their first victory of the year.

Whitenton led the offense in the win. Lexi McBrayer contributed six kills, 13 assists and eight digs, and Hall and Kamari Parker also reached double figures in assists. Northeast finished opening day at 1-1.
