Northeast’s final preseason football scrimmage produced three scoring drives and three turnovers during the August 18 Meet the Tigers event at Tiger Stadium.
Glen Singleton finished an 11-play, 55-yard opening drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Xae Mayes completed six passes on the possession, including a 20-yard gain.
Elijsah Westbrook’s interception helped set up a 38-yard field goal by Daniel Sherman. Tytus Davidson recovered a fumble, and Zay Hubbard added another interception for the defense.
The scrimmage ended with Jaki Holmes making a nine-yard touchdown catch on a pass from Colt Whitacre. The roughly 25-minute session followed introductions of Northeast’s athletic programs and a performance by the Showband from Tigerland. It marked the event’s first appearance at Tiger Stadium.
