Meridian rallies past Northeast despite Hicks’ career-high 15 kills
Northeast won the opening set but fell to Meridian in four sets on August 31 at Bonner Arnold Coliseum. The Eagles prevailed 23-25, 25-22, 25-15 and 25-20, dropping the Tigers to 3-5.
Addy Hicks recorded a career-high 15 kills and added 16 digs for a double-double. Eliza Whitenton finished with 13 kills for the second consecutive match.
Northeast opened with a 7-1 run and produced 20 kills in the first set. Hicks, Whitenton and Addi Vetovitz combined for 17 of those kills.
The second set featured five lead changes and 10 ties before Meridian pulled ahead late. Northeast struggled to maintain its early offensive pace in the final two sets, while errors helped the Eagles take control. Carine Delfin led the Tigers with 19 digs, and Abbey Hall served five aces.
