Fourteen aces power Northeast volleyball past Coahoma
Northeast volleyball swept Coahoma in the programs’ first meeting, winning 25-9, 25-12 and 25-12 in Clarksdale on September 2. The victory moved the Tigers to 4-5.
Serving made the difference. Northeast recorded 14 aces, including seven in the opening set. Eliza Whitenton supplied five, while Abbey Hall and Carine Delfin added four apiece.
Addy Hicks led the attack with 13 kills. Six came in the first set as Northeast built an early advantage and never allowed Coahoma to settle into the match.
Kaylee Estes, Addi Vetovitz and Brooklyn Chappell also contributed offensively. Northeast maintained control through the final two sets and limited its errors in the third to finish the sweep. The result gave the Tigers a winning start to September after closing August with a loss to Meridian.
