A matchup between Prentiss and Simpson county schools is on deck for the 3A edition of the 2021 MHSAA State Baseball Championships as the Booneville Blue Devils faces off against the Magee Trojans.
The Blue Devils comes into the series with sweeps over their entire postseason slate against Hatley, Winona, Kossuth, and Amory. Meanwhile, Magee defeated Clarksdale in a series that was a sweep for the Trojans to punch their ticket to Pearl.
In terms of overall records, Magee sits at 27-5 on the season. As for Booneville, they currently stand at 20-10.
Impact players to watch for the hometown Blue Devils are Jackson McCoy, Hayden Donahue, and Kyle Church. All three are signees of Northeast Mississippi Community College for next season.
Game one of the series is set to begin Tuesday with first pitch at 3 p.m.
Game two will take place on Thursday with a 3 p.m. first pitch time also.
If needed, game three will be played on Saturday at a time determined by the qualifying order of each series for a game three.
