Baldwyn gets big division win to set up chance at 1-2A title
Baldwyn needed a win against division rival Walnut to secure their playoff future. The Bearcats set the pace with an untouched 88 yard touchdown sprint from Jordan Eldridge to do just that, winning 45-29 on the road.
The defense came up big in a high scoring contest, garnering 5 stops on fourth down and making several big plays to keep Walnut off of the board, including a Jacoby Williams interception.
The offense was led by a balanced attack that saw Kevrick Richey score twice to go along with Eldridge opening score and a touchdown run from Mark Rowan in going over a 300 yards on the night as a team. Maddox Richey hit Jacoby Williams for a pair of touchdown passes.
With the victory, Baldwyn has a chance to clinch their sixth straight division title next Thursday night as they face East Union at home.
