Northeast volleyball sweeps East Central for fourth straight home-opening win
Northeast volleyball won its home opener for the fourth consecutive season, sweeping East Central on August 26 at Bonner Arnold Coliseum. The Tigers won 25-22, 25-23 and 28-26 to improve to 3-4.
Eliza Whitenton led Northeast with 13 kills and 11 digs. Addy Hicks matched her career best with 12 kills, while Abbey Hall supplied 19 assists.
Serving helped Northeast prevail in three close sets. The Tigers totaled 11 aces, including four from Cora Kelly and three from Hall. Carine Delfin added 10 digs.
East Central forced extra points in the third set, but Northeast held on. Freshman Kaylee Estes delivered the final kill through the middle to complete the sweep. The result gave the Tigers momentum after a demanding road stretch to start the season.
