Blue Devils stay unbeaten, roll past North Panola 34-14

Booneville made the long trip west to Sardis on Friday night and came home with exactly what it went after.

The Blue Devils handled North Panola 34-14 to move to 3-0 on the season, the program’s third straight win to open the 2026 campaign under head coach Scott Brown.

The result followed the formula Booneville has leaned on all year: control the football, stay balanced, and let a deep and athletic roster wear an opponent down over four quarters. The Blue Devils opened the season with a 33-21 win over North Pontotoc, then brought the Skunk Bowl trophy back home with a 44-12 win over rival Baldwyn before heading to Panola County.

Senior running back Tony Ogden has been the engine of it. Through three games he is averaging 117.0 rushing yards per game and has accounted for six total touchdowns — five on the ground and one through the air, according to MaxPreps. Quarterback Cinquaveous “Qua” Bell has thrown for 476 yards and three scores, and senior receiver Kydon Smith is averaging 88.5 receiving yards per game with two touchdown catches.

North Panola fell to 0-3. The Cougars have now dropped games to Rosa Fort (36-0), Charleston (24-14) and Booneville.

The Blue Devils return home Friday to host Biggersville, a team coming off a 35-0 loss to East Webster. Booneville then travels to Ripley on Sept. 25 before district play opens Oct. 2 at Kossuth.

Kossuth has looked the part early, handling Tishomingo County 31-13 on Friday night. Booneville’s district slate also includes Belmont, Mantachie and Alcorn Central, with the regular season closing Oct. 30 at home against South Pontotoc.
