Booneville sweeps Kossuth to advance to North Half
The Booneville Blue Devils find themselves in a familiar series against a familiar foe after sweeping Kossuth in the third round of the state baseball playoffs.
The Blue Devils defeated the Aggies by scores of 8-5 and 9-4 to advance to face division rival North Half. The winner moves on to play for a state championship.
In game 1, Booneville used a 4 run 4th inning and multiple hits from Conner Davis and Jackson McCoy to secure the 8-5 victory. Davis, Joseph Williford and Avery Barnett all had doubles. Williford picked up the victory on the mound.
In the deciding game 2, Booneville got 5 runs in the 7th inning to break open a tied game. Multiple hits from Williford, Barnett and Davis including a Williford homer. Alex Barnett pitched a complete game for the victory.
