Lady Royals open season with pair of quality wins

New Site has started the 2019-2020 season off with a bang by picking up a pair of quality wins over 4A opponents.

The Lady Royals, ranked #4 statewide in 2A in the week 1 Mississippi Sports Network poll, got wins over Tishomingo County and Shannon.

The season opening victory over Tish County came by a 61-54 margin in a contest the Lady Royals lead the entire way. Junior Saydee Taylor led the way with 18 points and 5 rebounds while Hannah Campbell contributed 11 points.

New Site then picked up a dominating win over Shannon at the Tupelo Hound Dog Classic, coming away with a 65-35 win in a game that they led the entire way.

Lily Whitley was the player of the game with 22 points and Campbell scored 19 on the night.

New Site is back in action Friday agains in county rival Wheeler.
